Inspired by flowers

Today I was thinking about flowers and gardens. I grow up in a cold climate where winters would take up to 6 months. I remember as a child siting in a room, looking the snow from my window and trying to remember what the grass looked liked. Spring to me was a promise of worm sunny days to come and it always lifted my spirit as i saw the snow melt. This was a time when Flowers would start popping up and people would start planting their flower gardens. For me they were the source of fascination. Every new flower i see I would scrutinize it looking at the color shape form and texture. I was always fascinated going to florist or nursery . I love the smell of flowers and i could stand and walk around for hours inhaling flower smell and looking at different flowers.

Now that I am older i still appreciate and see the beauty in all the flowers and everything that grows around me. I love painting flowers and nature. I base a lot of my paintings on how things naturally grow. Here are some of my floral paintings .
